Music producer Richie Mensah will be honoured with a Lifetime Achievement award at the third edition of the Koforidua Technical University SRC Awards scheduled for May 12, 2018 at the Eastern Premier Hotel.
Since his emergence onto the Ghanaian music scene and the establishment of his Lynx Entertainment Record Label in 2006, Richie has played a major role in projecting a lot of artistes like Asem, OJ Blaq, Irene Logan, Eazzy, Zigi , MzVee, Kidi and Kuami Eugene.
Richie released his debut album ‘All of Me’ in 2008. The album featured hit singles ‘Frema,’ ‘When I Get You’ and ‘Dirty Dance.’
The release of this album established Richie as one of the hottest R&B stars on the Ghanaian music scene. He earned nominations at the 2009 Ghana Music Awards for Discovery of the Year, Best Male Vocalist, Hip Hop Song of the Year, Afro Pop Song of the Year and Collaboration of the Year.
He also won an award for ‘Producer of the Year’ at the ceremony, his record label Lynx Entertainment won Record Label of the Year. ‘Woso,’ a song by Okyeame Kwame, which he produced and featured on, won Hip Hop Song of the Year and Video of the Year.
He has served as a judge on several music contests including MTN Hitmaker where he has mentored a number of musicians.
Last year, the award ceremony honoured Legendary Ghanaian highlife musician, Chief Abirekyire Kofi Sammy for his immeasurable contribution to the music industry.
Koforidua Technical University SRC Awards will see performances from artistes from Lynx Entertainment including MzVee, ‘Confusion’ hit maker Kuami Eugene and Kidi.
