But for the timely intervention of Police in Odumase, four men would have been lynched over accusations they were kidnappers.
The four men were travelling with two children, a boy and a girl from Bimbilla to Accra when they were accosted by the townsfolk.

Though the police are not taking the accusations for granted, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh told Citi News “it is turning out to be an alarm raised by somebody but for the timely intervention of the police, the four suspects would have been attacked.”
“The group who had gathered at the scene followed up to the police station and were demanding to have suspects who had been arrested released so they could have a glance at them. The police took a stance and managed to bring the situation under control,” he said.
The suspects were interrogated and statements have been taken from them.
“When we conclude our initial investigations, we hope to grant them police enquiry bail so that we continue with the investigations,” DSP Ebenezer Tetteh said, adding that the children’s mother has also been called to the police station.
“We have contacted the mother. The mother has shown us proof and even the mere presence of the woman at Odumase police station and the reaction of the children did not lead us to question whether she was the biological parent of the kids or not.”
