The National Identification Authority (NIA) authorised the registration of members of some Churches within the Accra West zone on Sunday.
The NIA in a statement said the Churches offered their premises as registration centres for the duration of the Mass Registration and “in return, they requested that the NIA considers dedicating one Sunday to register members of their congregation.”

“Consequently, registration officials responsible for the aforementioned registration centres were duly authorized to register the congregants of the respective churches. The exercise was under the strict supervision of the Head of Operations,” the statement added.
The NIA began the mass registration exercise on April 29, 2019 following the completion of the pilot phase.
The registration in the Greater Accra Region is expected to end on July 6.

NIA REGISTRATION AT SOME SELECTED CHURCHES ON SUNDAY 19TH MAY 2019
The National Identification Authority (NIA) wishes to inform the general public that, it authorized the registration of members of some selected churches in the Accra West Zone where registration is currently ongoing.
The following churches which are also designated NIA registration centres were open for registration on Sunday 19th May 2019 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm:
1. St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Kwashieman.
2. Assemblies of God Church, Otaten.
3. Engrafted Word Chapel, Otaten.
4. Presbyterian Church (Mt. Zion Congregation), Odorkor
5. Victory Bible Church, Awoshie.
6. Afropa House, Darkuman.
7. Trinity Presbyterian Church, Santamaria School Complex.
The leaders of the said churches offered their premises to NIA to be used as registration centres for the duration of the Mass Registration exercise within their respective communities. In return, they requested that the NIA considers dedicating one Sunday to register members of their congregation.
The said request was considered and approved.
Consequently, registration officials responsible for the aforementioned registration centres were duly authorized to register the congregants of the respective churches. The exercise was under the strict supervision of the Head of Operations.
The general public is, therefore, assured that the NIA will continue to conduct its activities in the public interest and in accordance with the law.
