The Accra Ridge branch of the Rotary Club organized its 10th-anniversary grand finale dinner and handover ceremony on Sunday, June 30, 2019.
The ceremony was held at the Fiesta Royale Hotel in Accra.
Speaking at the event, the past president of the club, RP Samson Djan Amoako, hailed members for their support of the past leadership.
“I have found that the president is always fully supported, people volunteer for things, ‘upward’ praise is given, and everyone is pulling in the same direction. It is just so satisfying, and it makes the effort very worthwhile.”
He also wished the incoming leadership well, with the promise of support from all members of the club.
“I wish you well in the year ahead. I know at this point it looks like a large mountain to climb but it will be a fun journey and you will have the support of all our members as you move forward,” he said.
In his acceptance speech, the new president, PE Nana Yeboah Bobie, listed the projects that his board has outlined to work on.
“We will focus and give our all to complete the maternity and delivery unit for Mallam Atta Government Clinic, the boreholes for the 5 communities in the Ga South Municipality, continue with our blood donation campaigns, sponsoring the annual regional blood donors’ award and many more.”
“Your club has been active at the national and district levels and has consistently performed as an effective Rotary club – a strong and active membership to the Rotary Foundation with 2 major donors on roll, and the implementation of relevant service projects,” the district governor, Jeffrey Afful said in his message after the handover had been done.
The night also had the presentation of awards to members who have been instrumental to the club, including the new president and his board.
