EqualCups, a Non-Governmental Organization based in Hamburg, Germany has organised a training in first aid and for students, bus drivers and other corporate organizations at all levels to equip them in the best way as possible to administer first aid treatments when there need be.
The second phase of first aid training began on 15th July, 2019 and ended on 22nd July 2019 in Accra.
Training sessions were held at Kwame Nkrumah Circle, Achimota Junior High School, The HAJJ Village and The Accra Mall.
This phase saw about 20 volunteers recruited and trained to train other people on first aid.
The first aid training which is in line with the SDG Goal number 3 (Good health and well-being) is one of the projects at EqualCups.
Other projects are in line with SDG Goals 4 (Quality Education), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and 5 (Gender Equality).
The organization and its projects are self-funded by a board of trustees and volunteers who believe in its vision.
EqualCups, however, welcomes support from corporate bodies, funding organizations and government are underway.
“We are therefore calling on interested individuals and organizations who would want to be a part of this great initiative, either as a sponsor, volunteer or partner,” said EqualCups in a statement.
“It takes all of us to change our country and our attitude towards first aid administration.”
