Pathologists at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital have started conducting an autopsy on the body of a 46-year-old woman who was allegedly murdered in a hotel at Kumasi.
The death of Comfort Owusu popularly called Maame Yaa came as a shock to relatives and residents at Asafo.
She was allegedly shot dead by her boyfriend at the Cedar Crescent Hotel at Danyame in Kumasi.
The suspect, 42-year-old Edwin Awuku who is a worker at the Bank of Ghana is currently in police custody and assisting in investigations.
The deceased’s daughter, Maame Adwoa Boakyewaa speaking to Citi News cautioned Ghanaians to stop spreading false news about her deceased mother.
“My mother is not an outing type. She doesn’t make friends so I am begging the public to stop spreading such false news because my mother is not like that,” she said.

Police in the Ashanti Region began probing the death of the middle-aged woman after she was allegedly shot in her hotel room in Kumasi.
Sources disclosed that the deceased was attacked together with her boyfriend while they were lodging at the facility.
But after investigations, it was revealed that the boyfriend rather shot and killed the woman.
Police in the Region then arrested him and is now the main suspect in the case.
According to the Police, Edwin Awuku, after shooting the deceased, went home and confessed his action to his wife and both of them went back to the hotel to raise the alarm about the death and subsequently lodged a complaint at the Kumasi Central Police Station.
