The District Chief Executive for Chereponi in the North East region, Tahidu Abdul Razak, has promised to provide free meals to supervisors in the ongoing Basic Education Certificate Examination.
He said it complements the president’s efforts in providing students with free meals.
The DCE also asked the candidates not to bother going to look for food because the free meals will continue until the last paper.
“In the same vein, my colleague’s teachers who are the supervisors, on my own way, I am going to provide them with lunch till you finish so that they have adequate attention for you,” Mr. Razak said.
The DCE also urged the candidates to comport themselves and not do anything that will bring disappointment to their parents and the district.
“You people are the luckiest students. There is free Senior High School education and also a very good package at the tertiary level so please don’t let us disappoint our parents and don’t let us disappoint the district.”
He also supplied 15 boxes of pens to be distributed to the candidates.
“I have been able to organise some success pens for you. I have brought 15 boxes of pens to be given to each and everyone so that you write and pass well.”
In all, 702 candidates are taking part in this year’s BECE in the Chereponi district.
