Akosombo Textiles, one of Ghana’s leading textile manufacturing companies, has announced a partnership with Obaasima Foundation to roll out a series of events as part of the Foundation’s activities for 2022.
Akosombo Textiles has been a sponsor of the Obaasima Summit since its first event in 2019.
Announcing the partnership, Head of Sales & Marketing of Akosombo Textiles, Petra Aba Asamoah stated, “We are happy to be collaborating with the Obaasima Foundation once again. We believe that the work that the foundation does is crucial and being a partner in the effort is important to us”.
Under the theme, “Progressive Portrayal; Building Capacity for Elevation”, this year’s activities will include a nationwide campus tour and market storms and the main event in May 2022.
On her part, Ama Pratt, Executive Director of the Foundation stated, “Women form a significant constituency in our nation, and we must continue to recognize the invaluable contribution they make towards development and the existence of humanity. Therefore, we must all be interested in uplifting our women so that they can contribute more meaningfully to our collective development”.
The events will begin on 25th February 2022 with the first campus event being held at the University of Ghana, Legon. There will be four campus venues where workshops, mentoring sessions and interactions will be held. There is a prominent line up of speakers including, Madam Tangoba Abayage, former Ghanaian Ambassador and Regional minister, Madam Joyce Bawa Mogtari, former Deputy Minister and lawyer, Madam Ama Serwaah Nerquaye Tetteh, Secretary General, Ghana Commission – UNESCO and Madam Sylvia Owusu Ankomah, Corporate Relations Director of Guinness Ghana Ltd.
