As part of efforts to strengthen the bond between the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) and Ghana’s Muslim community, the bank has donated bags of rice and sugar in support of this year’s Ramadan.
The donation, which was done at the residence of the National Chief Imam, Dr Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu on Friday, April 14, 2022, is being replicated across the country.
Ramadan represents a period where Muslims fast, intensify the existing practice of alms giving, and feeding the poor and the needy, with the hope of Allah’s mercy and blessings.
According to the Deputy Managing Director of the Agricultural Development Bank, Alhaji Alhasaan Yakubu-Tali, the donation also forms part of efforts to strengthen the relationship between the Muslim community and the bank.
“This is something we do every year and to present some items, food items, rice and sugar as our support to the Muslim Ummah. We are hoping that it will serve to strengthen the relationship between ADB and the Muslim community in the country and the National Chief Imam”.
He further appealed to the Muslim community to choose ADB as their choice of bank.
“I’m appealing to my Muslim brothers and sisters to consider ADB as their main bank for doing business.”
Receiving the items, the National Chief Imam, Dr Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu expressed his appreciation to the bank and urged all Muslims to observe and maintain peace throughout the Ramadan period.
