The National Democratic Congress in the Oti Region has accused the Regional Minister, Joshua Makubu, of instructing the Ghana Education Service and the Nkwanta Community Day SHS to uproot trees planted by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during the commemoration of the 2022 June 4 Revolution anniversary held in Nkwanta.
According to the NDC’s Oti Regional Communications Officer, Mobarak Diplomatic, the order by the Regional Minister is unfortunate as the alleged directive came at the time his government has invested millions of cedis in the Green Ghana project.
Speaking to Citi News, the Regional Communications Officer of the NDC in the Oti Region said his side is ready to face the minister.
He further dared the minister to follow through with the directive.
“We are challenging him to go ahead to uproot our seedlings, and we will face him squarely,” Mr. Mobarak said.
He also accused the Regional Minister of earlier instructing authorities of the Community Senior High School not to allow the program of June 4th to take place at the premises of the school.
“Why would the minister instruct us not to hold a programme at the premises of a senior high school built by Mahama and NDC?” Mobarak asked.
