The Information Technology students of Methodist University College on Wednesday inaugurated the Methodist University Information Technology Students Association (MUITSA).
According to the students, the Association’s aim is to contribute its quota to help address the country’s information technology issues.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of Methodist University Information Technology Students Association (MUITSA), president of MUITSA, Bernice Tawiah courted for the support of all the IT students in the school to ensure the association achieves its goal.
“Our vision is to contribute meaningfully to information technology issues that go on in the country, our mission is to provide a platform to help tackle concerns of information technology students in this institution. For us to achieve our goals as an association we all have to join hands. I will urge us all to assist in ensuring that this association becomes a generational organization that will serve a good purpose and develop talents who will effectively participate in developmental issues of Ghana,” she said.
For his part, guest speaker for the inaugural ceremony, RTD Justice Nana Addo- Aikins admonished the students to come up with data that will influence the country’s governance system.
“As you have formed this association you will have to work to positively affect the country’s governance structure. You all need to think more about Ghana’s democratic structure. As IT students you will be the country’s information carriers. For this reason, you need to get deeper understanding of the country’s governance system.”
