The National Democratic Congress (NDC) delegates in the Eastern Region have shown the incumbent Chairman Bismark Otafrigya Tawiah Boateng the exit after electing his opponent John Owusu Amankra popular known as Jowark to lead the party in the region for the next four years.
Chairman Otafrigya as he is affectionately called polled 281 of the votes, while John Owusu Amankra had 375 with a third candidate Basil Ahiable also polling 249 of the total 905 votes.
William Atamudzi stood tall in a fierce contest to beat competition from 8 other candidates who contested him for the position of the Vice Chairman.
The delegates, however, kept faith in the competence of the Secretary Mark Oliver Kevor to retain him as the secretary of the party giving him 538 of the total 906 votes, rejecting the communications officer Baba Jamal Konneh who contested Mark Oliver Kevor with 365 of the votes and three rejected ballots.
Sawodji Kwame Stephen aka Black Face who had 319 of the total votes lost to Cudjoe Adukpo who had 593 votes in the position of the deputy secretary.
For the position of the Organiser, Hackman Kabore secured 653 votes to be elected as the organizer beating his opponent Tom Budu Kenneth a former District Chief Executive Officer for Akyemansa district who had 260 votes.
Hafianyo Gershon Kwadzo pulled 355 votes to be elected as the deputy organizer of the party.
Ahmed Zakaria Kwakwa remains the treasurer position of the party after pulling 466 of the total votes fending off competition from 3 other candidates.
Mark Oliver Kevor’s right-hand man, young gentleman Richard Lartey also known as Obibini was elected as the deputy treasurer of the party.
Darlas Amponsah Williams was also elected as communications director of the party in the region with Akore Michael Ofoe slightly edging pass Emmanuel Opare Djan to become the deputy communication officer in a close contest.
Alhaji Issah Sani Mohammed was also trusted with 511 votes to lead the party’s agenda in the Zongo’s as the Zongo Caucus coordinator.
