Mizani known for its professional in-salon and at-home hair care & styling products and treatments for all hair types held a salon expert program at Marriott Hotel in Accra on Monday, 17th June 2019.

The Salon expert program is a loyalty program that allows salons to become part of an elite group of salons that collaborate with the brand, offer high standards of services in relaxers, treatments, hair care and styling.

This program which provides salons with the quality guarantee label and offers greater exposure to customers is founded on 3 growth driver pillars: Education, In-Salon Support and Consumer Marketing.

The event had several hair salons in Accra present as well as beauty bloggers and influencers in attendance. Personalities such as French Ambassador to Ghana Anne Sophie AVÉ, CEO of Stratcomm Africa, Esther Cobbah and CEO of HACSA, Johanna Svanikier were also present.

Guests were invited to a welcome cocktail area where they networked and took photos against the flowery Mizani backdrop.

The welcome address was given by Sekou Coulibaly, the Managing Director of L’Oréal West Africa. A presentation by the Brand Director of Mizani Africa – Middle East, Noziwe Hude followed.

She expressed the vision of the Mizani brand to become relevant to the African woman so she can be her authentic self; hence fulfilling their slogan, ‘Treasure your hair heritage’.

Brian Warfield, the Zone Education Manager of Mizani Africa did a hair presentation with models as he showed photos of them before the Mizani treatment and then explained the process of how he achieved the final look with a range of Mizani products. Seeing the vast difference between the first and final looks, the audience showed their approval of the presentation.

The closing remarks were given by the Business Unit Manager of L’Oréal Africa, Olusina Odeniyi. The event was hosted by television personality, Sika Osei and organised by Glitz Africa.

After the event, Madam Faustina Adjagar, CEO of First Choice Hair & Beauty Salon had this to say; “The presentations went well. I’ve been using Mizani products for some time now. We didn’t understand a few things at first but they were able to explain very well to us.

We’re going home with a lot of information now. I believe this event/partnership will be helpful to us in the industry. It wouldn’t happen overnight but it will happen over a period of time. That’s what they promised us. We are going to work hand in hand with them and we are sure things are going to work the way we expect them to.”

Yvette a hairstylist from Hairsenta remarked, “It was so cool. Initially, I didn’t know much about the products but the presentations have enlightened me more about them; how they are to be applied. I had heard about it but I didn’t know what it was all about. Now that I’ve been enlightened about it, I’m going to start using the products.”

Genevieve, a hairdresser at Rapunzel Salon also said, “I learned about the pricing. The (Mizani) products are of high quality so we shouldn’t mind the price. I also learned to use only Mizani products and not mix them with others. I think the presentation, on the whole, was a good one. If we inculcate it into our business, it would be nice.”

Beauty and fashion blogger and influencer, Afua Rida commented, “I think events like this are important because it brings the whole industry together. We are able to learn, meet each other, able to understand the products, hairdressers can work well with clients as well as influencers. It was great; well put together. I think a lot of people are well pleased.

Concerning the partnership between Mizani and hair salons, Afua said, “It’s good to have feedback, as well as a good opportunity for Mizani to give back to hair salons in terms of training for product understanding and how to grow their businesses.”
