The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has dismissed reports that Prof. Kwesi Botchwey has been selected as his running mate for the 2020 general elections.
This follows reports indicating the selection of Prof. Kwesi Botchwey as his running mate.
He denied the reports via a tweet saying the selection of a running mate is false.
Mahama was elected as the flagbearer of the NDC in February 2019.
Six months on, a running mate is yet to be selected for him.
A number of names had popped up for the position but the party is yet to make an official announcement.
In July, the General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia said he will gladly accept an opportunity to serve as John Mahama’s running mate in the 2020 general elections.
The NDC has planned to undertake its parliamentary primaries on Saturday, 24th August, 2019.
