Rafimex Ghana Limited and Lucozade Ghana, have donated over 8,000 cans of Lucozade energy drink to the Ghana Armed Forces to support them as they expend energy in helping fight against the novel coronavirus pandemic, COVID-19.
Speaking at the presentation, Abigail Ofosu Antwi, Public Relations Officer, Rafimex General Trading Company, stated that the company believes the cans of Lucozade will help the military restore energy that is lost, especially during this period of lockdown where they need to be highly alert and vigilant.
“Lucozade is a glucose-based beverage that helps restore lost energy. We hope that this helps replenish energies expended during the enforcement of this partial lock-down,” the Country Manager of Lucozade Ghana and West Africa, Mr. Mensah Seneadza added.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Ghana Armed Forces, the Chief of Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces, Rear Admiral Adam Yakubu, expressed his appreciation for the support, he said “thank you very much for the support, the crisis we find ourselves in is one that demands the collective responsibility of society”.
“Though we are at the frontline, support like what you are giving us is what urges us on”, he added.
Ghana’s total case count for COVID-19 at the time of the donation stood at 287 including 5 deaths and 3 recoveries.
