Security has been intensified at the City Engineers Polling Station ahead of the counting of ballots in the Odododiodoo constituency in the Greater Accra Region.
Security personnel at the polling station had a tough time controlling the voters after they budged into the centre due to long queues.
The voters who had formed a long queue in front of the main entrance to the centre forced themselves into the polling station.
Electoral officials supervising the process were also helpless in calming the crowd.
Meanwhile, the New Patriotic Party Parliamentary Candidate for the Odododiodioo constituency, Nii Lante Bannerman has urged security personnel within the constituency to intensify efforts during the counting of the ballots.
Speaking to Citi News Mr. Bannerman said: “You know our constituency is a special one. And some of us have always been praying and hoping that violence associated with Odododiodioo will be a thing of the past. The election has so far been generally peaceful and very smooth”.
The NPP candidate was hopeful of winning the election.
