What are the side effects of taking too much honey?

Season Nine, Episode 7 of the Vodafone Healthline Series centered on prostate cancer- the second most common cancer that affects men worldwide.

The show kicked off with Regular panellists, Kwekuma Yalley and Aba Folson, both health practitioners who discussed the effects of using too much honey.

Aba Folson indicated that there are effects of using too much honey since it contains elements of sugar.

Kwekuma Yalley also explained that taking honey is necessary because it contains antioxidants that help reduce blood pressure among others.

He, however, indicated that taking it in excess is not advisable.

“We say honey is protective because it contains antioxidants that help to reduce blood pressure. It also helps to reduce the bad cholesterol in the body and increases the good cholesterol but to take it in excess is not advisable.”

The story of Cecelia Aidoo, a young student whose arm was injured after being involved in an accident was also highlighted on the show.

Cecelia was assisted by Vodafone to undergo surgery.

Dr. Kweku Asante from the University Medical Centre was also on the show to discuss prostate cancer with the Host, Frema Asiedu.

He indicated that prostate cancer only affects men and are usually in different stages.

According to him, prostate cancer can come with or without symptoms, adding that men who come from families where relatives have contracted prostate cancer ought to do regular checks to know their status since the disease is hereditary.

Symptoms of prostate cancer, according to Dr. Asante include discharges and pain while passing urine.

The show was capped off with a few exercises with fitness coach, Maabena.
