The immediate past member of parliament for Ledzokuku, Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye has presented a brand-new taxi cab to one of his constituents as part of his Dr. Okoe Boye Skills Support Programme.
The vehicle is the 10th he has procured and given out since he started the initiative in 2017 when he went into parliament as a legislator.
With nine given out through his 4 years in parliament to different taxi ranks in the constituency, he presented the 10th one recently on Wednesday, August 4, 2021.
“On Founders’ Day, I presented a comprehensively insured Taxi to a constituent under the auspices of the Dr. Okoe Skills Support Program, a program that helps to provide resources and equipment to people in different kinds of trade. This is the tenth taxi to go, the first to go to an individual, with the first nine having gone to Taxi Ranks in the community,” he told Citi News.
“We are reminded that the joy of Life lies not in the materials you own but in the number of investments you have made in other people and in your community in general,” he added.
In 2019, the medical doctor provided a van, tricycles, vulcanizing machine, barbering and other commercial equipment to small scale workers in the constituency as part of the programme.
Okoe Boye, who was a Deputy Health Minister of Health, lost his parliamentary election in the 2020 elections.
