The Chairman for the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) branch in the Central Region has been interdicted for financial malfeasance and dictatorship.
This comes after three members of the Association including the Regional Vice Chairman, 1st Trustee and 2nd Trustee in a petition called for an investigation into the activities of the Chairman.
According to them, the Chairman has no regard for the constitution of the organization which he leads.
Apart from acting illegally, the Chairman is said to use monies from the office for his personal use.
The Chairman after the petition was sent to the General Secretary for the Union was interrogated after which a prima facie was established against him. The Union has hence interdicted him for further investigations into the matter.
In a letter signed by the Association’s General Secretary announcing the indictment of the Regional Chairman whose name is given as Bro Alhaji R.S Artey said “The National Management of the Union upon preliminary investigation conducted into the allegations of financial malfeasance, autocracy and dictatorship on the Central Regional Chairman of the Union by your colleague Regional Officers; have arrived at a decision to interdict you for a thorough investigations to be conducted into the whole issue”.
The letter added that “This is after the National Officers had interrogated you and had established (prima facie) (Preliminary information to support a case) against you in accordance with Article 23 of the Unions constitution sub clause (c)”.
