Application for the fourth edition of the Israeli Green Innovation Competition has been opened.
The programme which was introduced in 2019 by the Garden and Flower Movement, in collaboration with the Israeli Embassy aims to reward individuals and organisations working to promote the conservation of the environment and agriculture.
Opening the competition at the launch of the 10th edition of the Ghana Garden and Flower movement show, Madam Shlomit Sufa, the Israeli Ambassador to Ghana, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, said expressed her excitement at promoting inventions aimed at addressing climate change.
“As a country that finds innovation as the main engine for its economic growth, I am excited to be able to support solutions that answer Ghana’s challenges in agriculture and climate change, while at the same time support the SME ecosystem,” she said.
The winner of this year’s competition gets to enjoy a fully paid trip to Israel to participate in industry-related meetings, excursions, and conferences to learn best practices, network, and seek potential investors to expand their existing business.
The competition requires participants to present a solution detailing how their innovative solution solves the challenges in the agricultural sector.
Six candidates who will be selected from a long list of applicants will pitch their ideas to a team of judges.
These finalists will present their innovative solutions within five minutes.
