The Member of Parliament for the New Juaben South Constituency, Michael Kofi Okyere Baafi, has announced plans by the government to construct an extra 8-kilometre asphalt road in and around the Koforidua Central Business District.
This addition will contribute to the existing 32 kilometres of roads, shooting the distance of roads fixed by the Member of Parliament to 40 kilometres.
“So, in all, we are going to have a total of 40km of asphalt roads in the constituency, and we are very happy about that because you can see that Koforidua is taking shape.”
Earlier this year, the government embarked on a campaign to fix and asphalt 35 kilometres of roads in Koforidua within the shortest possible time.
This move was to ensure that all deplored ancillary roads in the municipality were rehabilitated.
In an interview with Citi News on the state of roads in the Eastern Regional capital, Okyere Baafi reiterated his commitment to ensuring a facelift of roads in the area, expressing satisfaction with the level of upgrade on the state of roads in the Eastern Region’s capital so far.
