The Narh-Bita Hospital has partnered with Citi TV and Citi FM to embark on a medical outreach in communities affected by the Akosombo Dam spillage in the Keta and Anlo Districts in the Volta Region on Saturday, November 11, 2023.
The communities that will benefit from the health screening include Anyako in the Keta District, as well as Azaanu and Agorbledokui in the Anlo District.
The medical outreach is intended to enable these victims to check their vitals and to refer individuals with extreme cases as needed.
At least 50 health professionals, including 10 prescribers, 40 nurses, and other paramedics, will be deployed to these areas.
Participants will also receive free medications.
Meanwhile, the management of Citi FM and Citi TV has donated relief items worth thousands of cedis to flood victims in the Afadjato South, North Dayi and Buipe areas.
The donation was made in response to appeals from the Members of Parliament for those areas.
The items, which were presented to the MPs at the premises of Citi FM on Friday, November 10, 2023, included foodstuffs, mattresses, mosquito nets, torchlights, water treatment tablets, roofing sheets, and cement.
The Managing Director of Citi TV/Citi FM, Samuel Attah-Mensah, stated that the donation was part of the company’s ongoing efforts to support communities affected by the Akosombo Dam Spillage.
