The Food and Drug Authority in the North East Region as part of its activities in this festive season embarked on market surveillance for unwholesome products in the region.
The exercise has led to the seizure and destruction of unregistered goods and some expired food and drinks being sold to the people.
Speaking to Citi News the head of FDA in the North East Region, Jacob Amoako Mensah said “Our surveillance has revealed that some unwholesome products are sold and we seized them and we have successfully destroyed them.”
He further indicated “We would like to use this to appeal to customers to be on the lookout and please report to us any suspected product.”
