The Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Stephen Asamoah Boateng, is urging sympathizers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to be respectful wherever they find themselves.
He emphasized that the recent issue regarding Bernard Antwi Boasiako, widely known as Chairman Wontumi, and his comments about traditional leaders at the Manhyia Palace should serve as a lesson to all members of the party.
Mr. Boasiako, on Monday, January 29, led a delegation of prominent party members to the Manhyia Palace.
Their purpose was to engage with the Kumasi Traditional Council and address concerns arising from alleged disparaging comments attributed to Chairman Wontumi.
In a Citi News interview, Mr. Boateng stressed the importance of peaceful coexistence between politicians and traditional leaders.
“Today has been a lesson. It has gone to prove that my idea of giving back some power to them (chiefs), which was there, is a good direction.”
“…Wherever we find ourselves as NPP people, please be respectful to each other, have peace and harmony within our ranks,” he stated.
