The Chairperson of the Black Queen Management Committee, Gifty Oware Mensah, has taken the opportunity to address the misinterpretation of her recent comments regarding the Black Queens.
In her clarification, she expressed that her remarks on the payment of bonuses for the senior female team were not intended to be disrespectful.
Gifty Oware-Mensah issued a statement, emphasizing that her words have been misconstrued, leading to the incorrect perception that she holds a diminishing view of the Black Queens.
The statement sought to set the record straight, stating, “I want to clarify that I hold the utmost respect for the Black Queens and recognise their invaluable contributions to Ghanaian football. The intention was not to undermine the achievements of the Black Queens but to emphasise the distinct nature of each team.”
This clarification aims to reinforce Gifty Oware Mensah’s respect for the Black Queens, acknowledging their significant role in Ghanaian football while explaining that her comments were meant to highlight the unique qualities of each team rather than diminish the accomplishments of the Black Queens.
