The National President of the Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) Samuel Afotey Otu has urged members to resist political influence ahead of the December 2024 general elections.
According to him, as the elections approach, members must continue to work within the tenets of their duties to safeguard the independence of the judiciary.
Samuel Afotey Otu made the call at the JUSAG @ 50 health walk in Aburi in the Eastern Region on Saturday, April 27, 2024, as part of its activities towards the celebration.
“I want to assure our members that everything is under control and this year we are hoping for better things,” Mr Afotey Otu said.
He added, “This year is an election year and we (JUSAG) want everybody to take his or her work seriously.”
“Nobody should be influenced by any political party” he said, adding “We’re ready to work, we’re ready to deliver our task.”
He said the work of staff should be tactful in such a way that it will safeguard the independence of the judiciary.
