The Minister Designate for Information, Fatimatu Abubakar, has stated that the government’s performance tracker will be an enabler for accountability.
She explained that the tracker would provide Ghanaians with a platform to access real-time information on government projects for monitoring and evaluation.
At the tracker’s launch in Accra on Wednesday, she emphasized that the data on the tracker represents the power Ghanaians have.
The Minister-Designate for Information further stated that the tracker will address longstanding concerns about the accuracy and reliability of project presentations, especially the use of artist’s impressions to depict outcomes.
She said the tracker will serve as a reliable mechanism for showcasing the progress and impact of infrastructure projects, thereby instilling trust and confidence among citizens.
“We undertook a comprehensive data collection initiative in collaboration with Ministries, Departments and Agencies as well as MMDAs to gather accurate information on government projects across the nation. We have carefully put together this data, removing duplicates and ensuring its accuracy through a collaborative validation process with MMDAs. Through open communication and ongoing collaboration, we have achieved a verified and comprehensive database.”
“The tracker will offer Ghanaians a user-friendly platform to access real-time information on government projects throughout the country. This data is your power. It will be an enabler for accountability and monitoring of government projects towards the national development agenda,” she stated.
