The running Mate of the National Democratic Congress flagbearer, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, will begin a four-day campaign tour of the Western North Region today.
After being selected as running mate for the National Democratic Congress, Professor Opoku-Agyemang has toured the Central, Upper East, North East, Northern, Bono and Ahafo Regions
In a Citi News interview, the spokesperson and Head of Communications at the Office of the NDC’s Running Mate, Mawuena Trebarh, said Professor Opoku-Agyemang will first pay a courtesy call on traditional authorities and opinions leaders in the Region.
“We know her to be a great traditionalist, so when she gets to Bibiani, Bekwai, Bia East, Bia West, she will be calling on those traditional authorities through our Regional Executive Team and to be officially introduced to them. And she is also there to seek their guidance, their direction; we all know the influence traditional authorities have.”
She added that the campaign tour will present the party with the opportunity to get to know the grievances of the people and address them in its manifesto accordingly.
Her team is viewing it as an “opportunity to engage in community interaction, listen to the realities on the ground.”
“The NDC is preparing its manifesto which is called the people’s manifesto because we have taken the time to go out and understand the context in which people are operating. Hopefully, we will collaborate in understanding how we will work together to move the country forward,” Mawuena Trebarh said.
