Humanism Activist and experienced Freelancer, Agyemang Duah Kweku Jr., has challenged the widespread belief that AI will directly replace jobs.
Addressing concerns about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its impact on job security, at Enterprise Bureau’s 2023 roundtable on ‘The Future of Work and The Megatrends of Job Creation, noted that, ‘AI won’t take your job, but individuals equipped with AI skills might outperform others.’ He stressed the importance of combining skills with AI capabilities for success in the evolving job market.
Regarding remote work, Duah highlighted its essence in providing flexibility to individuals in managing their work schedules.
He emphasized, ‘Remote work allows people to choose what, when, and how they work.’
While Duah projected a gradual adoption of remote work in Ghana, he emphasized its lasting presence in the workforce. ‘Fully embracing remote work may take time in Ghana, but it’s a fundamental part of our future,’ he noted, signaling a significant shift in work dynamics.
Throughout discussions on AI, job trends, and remote work, Duah emphasized the need for skill development in the AI era and advocated for embracing remote work as a sustainable model.
