Organisers of VGMA full of jokers – Mr. Eazi [Video]

Ghana-based Nigerian artiste, Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade known in showbiz as Mr. Eazi, has taken a swipe at Charter House, the organisers of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

The artiste told Delay on The Delay Show that he does not take the organisers of the award scheme serious but rather sees them as a bunch of jokers.

When asked if he felt he was robbed in last year’s awards for not winning an award, he said he would rather have been bothered if it was the Grammys.

“If eno sey ebi Grammy wey dem nominate me wey afi say ooh I go fi win this Grammy then if I lose, it’s two things, I will say aaaa I’m supposed to win this award but I will be a happy boy because I got nominated for the Grammy’s and that’s the Grammy but if it’s some other awards…” he said.

Mr. Eazi said he was not surprised he lost the African Artiste of the Year award to Runtown because Charter House wanted him to perform for free.

“They called my manager for me to perform at last year’s VGMAs and I told them I was on tour in the USA and if they could book flight for me to come since they were not going to give me a dime but they couldn’t oblige to that and I had stay off because I had a show that was going to pay me good money,” he explained why he did not win that slot in 2017.

He added that last year, his concert ‘Life is Eazi Detty Rave’ was the biggest event that hosted most of the top artistes in the country so he wondered why that award eluded him.

“Charterhouse is full of jokers, how can you conclude that I am not a big artiste when I organized the biggest event same year you nominated me for African Artiste of the Year category at the VGMA?” he asked.

Mr. Eazi has been living in Ghana since he was 15 and has endeared himself with the Ghanaian music community with his songs.

He was nominated in the 2017 Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards in the Best International Act – Africa category.

He has songs like ‘Leg Over,’ ‘Skin Tight,’ ‘Pour Me Water,’ ‘Life is Eazi,’ among others.
