An Accra Circuit Court has remanded two persons into Police custody for conspiracy to commit crime and robbery.
David Kofi Ahovi, a Mason and Michael Ato, unemployed, pleaded not guilty, and will reappear in court on Monday, May 7.
Prosecuting, Superintendent of Police, Mr. Kweku Bempah, told the court presided over by Aboagye Tandoh that the complainant was Kwame Nkrumah, a motor rider.
He said on April 11, at about 2230 hours, the accused hatched a plan to snatch a motorbike and therefore armed themselves with some powdered pepper.
He said the two approached the complainant, who was riding a motorbike at ACP junction and stopped and asked him to take them to Bethel Church area on the Kwabenya-Berekuso road.
The Prosecution said David brought out the powdered pepper and sprayed some into the complainant’s eyes and as he was screaming for help, they took the motorbike and sped off.
Superintendent of Police, Mr. Bempah, said the following morning, David and his partner in the company of their friend, who was a witness in the case took the motorbike to Ashaiman Market to sell, and in the process, they were arrested and the bike was retrieved.
