An Accra High Court presided over by her honor; Ruby Ayitey has remanded three suspected armed robbers accused of terrorizing revelers at Kokrobitey and Bortianor beaches into Police custody pending investigations.
Isaac Commey, 18, Daniel Lartey, 18, and Samuel Ansah have been accused of terrorizing holidaymakers who visited the Bortianor and Kokrobitey beaches to have fun.
The three were accused of having knives, plotting to attack and rob Andrews Ansah and some other expatriates who visited the beach.
It could be recalled that on October 4, the Kokrobitey Police headed by DSP John Yeboah, the Kokrobitey Police Commander, and his men went on a swoop at Kokrobitey and Bortianor beaches and burnt down unauthorized structures, subsequently arresting some suspected criminals who have been attacking holidaymakers.
These individuals use knives, guns and in some instances forced to retrieve expensive items from their victims.
In an interview with Citi News, DSP Yaboah said that they would continue to go on a routine swoop as a way of arresting the criminals in the area.
He again added that holidaymakers who visit the beaches of Kokrobitey and Bortianor must at certain times engage the police when they come for holidays at the beaches and must refrain from going to dangerous areas at the beach.
