Huis Africa has entered the Ghanaian real estate space armed with a data-driven mindset and anchored on technology that emphasises quality and credibility.
This real estate company was officially launched last Friday, and it is angling itself as the solution to some of the headaches or even horror stories a number of Ghanaians have faced within the real estate industry.
The co-founders of the company and members of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors; Anne Elamawusi Tawiah, Michael Taabavi and Paul Kobina Mensah, sat down with citinewsroom.com and shared how technology and information are the keys to giving prospective property homeowners peace of mind in their real estate transactions.
“When I say technology driven, I mean how we go about our listings, how we go about gathering our data, how we put our data out there, how we want to interpret the data. And the data building is on the properties or the transactions that we will be having for our daily dealings,” Paul explained
Ultimately, their goal is to remove the shroud of secrecy around real estate by earning the trust of the public.
“We are taking baby steps. We understand the challenges so little by little. A client at a time… we are building it gradually,” Paul said.
Among the basic things Huis Africa will be doing are providing drone images of listed properties, information on the property, zoning regulations, demographics and even data on the motivations of sellers.
Essential to this peace of mind is ensuring that listings linked to Huis Africa are well screened to ensure credibility and do away with potential conflicts that have been known to erupt around the sale of properties in Ghana, Michael Taabavi pointed out.
“With our system, we will control the data that we put there. On the other platforms, they open it. They allow other people to go onto their platforms and input the data so some may be wrong, some may be inaccurate,” he said.
Huis Africa also intends to save the average consumer from the numerous technicalities that hover around the real estate industry.
Anne Mawusi Tawiah said the aim is to give the “best value out there using expertise to practically hold your hand and help you navigate or make sense of the real estate market in Ghana now.”
At the launch of Huis Africa, the Head of Estates at the Tema Development Corporation, Kwasi Darko Asare, told citinewsroom.com that Huis Africa’s emphasis on data is commendable.
“The fact that they intend to add more data to what normal estate agencies bring up will add a new dimension to the property market in Tema and in Ghana. Let’s give them time and see how things roll out but it looks good and I am impressed with the work they have done so far and the ideas that they have.”
