The youth wing of the People’s National Convention (PNC) is urging the leaders of the party to stand up and speak on crucial matters that concern the nation.
According to them, the party has failed the state due to their lack of participation in major social and religious issues happening in Ghana.
According to the National Youth Organiser of the PNC, Awudu Ishaq, “the party has failed the state due to their lack of participation in some of issues including the controversial attempts to introduce Comprehensive Sexuality Education in Ghanaian basic schools despite all the hue and cry by other political parties.”
“The lack of action has caused deep concerns for the youth wing about the direction and leadership of the party,” Ishaq said.
He further noted that the greatest asset of the party is the Youth Wing and they will continue to support every activity and decision of the party which is in the best interest of the party”.
“As the greatest asset in the party, we are pleading with the leaders to listen to our demands. Those at the helm of affairs of the party clothed with the responsibility of leading the party to remain relevant to the aspirations of the members of the party as well as the generality of Ghanaians must sit up and lead appropriately”
On the raging matter of the impending referendum whether or not to amend Article 55 of the Constitution, they are also asking the party leadership to present their stance on the upcoming referendum on 17th December. This is in hopes that this would remove the division within the part and and create some hope for the future.
“This cannot be the posture of a party desirous of being elected into government. The Youth Wing is deeply worried and concerned about this conduct of the party leadership and cannot take it anymore,” the statement stressed.
