With seven more days to the December 7 polls, political parties are fervently campaigning, with the hope of winning the hearts of as many voters as they can.
One of such is the People’s National Convention whose flagbearer David Apasera has said, the party in the final week leading to the elections is leaving no stone unturned, in its quest to emerge victorious on December 7.
In a Citi News interview, Mr. Apasera outlined his party’s campaign activities for the week.
“I will be going to Upper East and my Chairman will be going to the Upper West while my running mate will be going to the Volta Region. Last week, we were in Kumasi, and we have been in Accra. Currently, my Chairman is in the Western Region going to the Western North Region. We intend to intensify our campaigns and let Ghanaians know our promises. Majority of them are buying in because they believe the promises. So we expect that they vote to bring us to power”, he said.
Meanwhile, the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP) also has its hands full, travelling across the country with its message of change.
National Secretary of the PPP, Paa Kow Ackon believes Ghanaians ought to reject both the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
“We have a presidential team which is currently in the Northern Region, and they will be coming back. We also have a Vice Presidential candidate who is focusing on the Ashanti and Eastern Region. The national officers are also focusing on the Central and Western Regions. Hopefully, we should convince a lot of people to vote for the PPP. We see how Mahama was voted out because he was accused of being corrupt. Now, we are also told that Nana Akufo-Addo is the mother serpent of corruption. We can’t have him to rule the country so the same way, Nana Akufo-Addo will be voted out for Brigitte Dzogbenuku to be made President of Ghana”, Paa Kow Ackon said.
