Wilmar Ghana’s Head of Marketing, Patience Oforiwa Mpereh, has been voted as the Corporate Lady of the year at the 2021 edition of the Women Choice Awards Africa.

Patience won this award in a competitive category of notable women making an impact in a range of industries cutting across media & PR, manufacturing, events, fashion, and more.

Organised by Global Ovations, the Women Choice Award rewards excellence in a range of fields.

The award uses a rigorous methodology to compile a shortlist, and a combination of public and board voting to select a winner.

Patience was honoured for her impactful work as a leading voice for women in corporate Ghana.

Patience is the founder of Super Moms Network, a support group that helps expectant and returning mothers resettle in the workplace.

The mother of three is one of the most well-known and personally liked leaders in Ghana’s fast-moving consumer goods industry.

She is admired for her coaching style and for empowering her teams with accountability and responsibility.

She started her career as an Assistant Brand Manager in Guinness Ghana, before joining Unilever as brand manager and rising through the ranks to become a Category Manager.

In January 2020, Patience became Head of Marketing at Wilmar Ghana, where she leads the marketing function and regularly promotes women’s wellbeing issues throughout the company.

Earlier this year, she and her team won the 2021 Marketing Campaign of the Year at the Ghana Manufacturing Awards, for their activities on Fortune rice.

The awards event was held at the Labadi Beach Hotel on Friday, November 19, and attended by high-profile personalities from Ghana and other West African countries.

Wilmar Africa Limited is a leading manufacturing company in the processing, packaging, and distribution of popular brands like Frytol, Fortune, Viking, Alife, and Jamaa for local and international markets.
