Some staff members of the Tamale Central Hospital in the Northern Region are being investigated for allegedly stealing the hospital’s resources.
According to the Medical Superintendent of the facility, Dr. Mahamadu Mbiniwaya, the staff, whose names were not given, provide services to clients with the hospital’s resources, and divert the monies received into their personal accounts.
The act, according to him, is impeding the development of the facility.
The Medical Superintendent of the Tamale Central Hospital, Dr. Mahamadu Mbiniwaya, complained about the conduct of some staff members to Citi News.
“These very people will pocket the money, to the extent somebody even had his own receipt. Now there is no money, and they will be very people who say we don’t have this or don’t have that. In the theatre, it is the same. There is a huge number of surgeries, but how much comes to the hospital coffers?” he quizzed.
“They are taking our money, but at the least thing, they will go to the chiefs and report me to the chiefs,” Dr. Mbiniwaya complained.
