The Member of Parliament for Dadekotopon, Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, is calling for more Ga-Dangmes to be considered for national appointments.
She said there are more than enough qualified and competent people of Ga-Dagme descent who can serve the country; however, only a handful get such an opportunity.
She lamented that there were very few Ga-Dagmes in Parliament.
Speaking to Citi News on the sidelines of the thanksgiving service of the late La Mantse, Nii Dr. Kpobi Tettey Tsuru III, the Dadekotopon legislator also urged Gas and Dagmes, to avail themselves for appointments to serve at the national level.
“When you come to Parliament on the NPP side, we have only four Gas. When the opportunity comes, they should consider us. We have competent Gas who can do the work. We also need to avail ourselves to be considered. So we, the Gas, we are asking that in the area of ministerial appointments, board appointments and others, the people of Ga-Dagbe should be considered,” she said.
The Ga-Dangmes are one ethnic group and they live primarily hail from the Greater Accra of Ghana.
