Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has expressed displeasure with how some of the candidates have acted in the aftermath of the special delegates conference.
There have been allegations of intimidation, attacks, and vote-buying made by camps of some of the candidates.
The polls returned with a resounding victory for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, with Kennedy Ohene Agyapong placing second and Alan Kyerematen securing the third place.
Some persons close to other candidates have made comments suggesting that the polls were manipulated at some centers.
However, the Suame Member of Parliament, who supports Dr. Bawumia, says attempts by some of the candidates to taint the victory of Dr. Bawumia will not succeed.
Speaking to the media ahead of a National Executive Committee and National Council meeting of the party on the special delegates conference, he said “We all hear what is coming out with some people accusing some of the aspirants of trying to manipulate the elections even though every objective person will realise that to a very large extent this was a very keenly contested election and that freeness and fairness can be attested to.”
