The Africa-America Institute (AAI), a premier U.S.-based international organisation dedicated to strengthening human capacity of Africans, in collaboration with the Africa Prosperity Network (APN), organisers of Africa Prosperity Dialogues (APD), will jointly host the Global Africa Forum (GAF) on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly in New York.
The 2023 Global Africa Forum is jointly organised by the Africa Prosperity Network and the Africa-America Institute, and aims to mobilise Global Africa Investments. GAF comes after the release, early this year, of the “Action Compact” following the 2023 Africa Prosperity Dialogues in Ghana and its presentation at the 2023 African Union annual meeting. The compact identifies the mobilisation of alternative (domestic) funding as an action to pursue to enhance intra-African trade.
GAF brings together African heads of state, global business leaders, and social change makers. It will serve as a platform to identify the appropriate measures with which to channel Global Africa funds as an alternative source of financing for enhancing intra- African Trade. The forum will also explore the strategies and processes required to ensure that Global Africa investments are at the centre of efforts to boost trade among African countries.

APN
The overarching vision of APN is an Africa beyond aid. APN seeks to work to bring prosperity to Africa by creating the platforms for holding critical dialogues that will reshape the thinking of African leaders and encourage them to take bold steps in the areas of trade, the structure of national economies, political conduct and culture.
APN is also motivated to mobilise African leaders and initiate partnerships that place the people of Africa first while enhancing their standard of living. APN is guided by values such as Trust, Diversity, Integrity, Boldness, Innovation, and Accountability as it works towards attaining its vision.
APN holds the view that for Africa’s growth and prosperity to be sustainable, it must be inclusive; prioritising the participation of small and medium scale Enterprises (SMEs), women, and young people in the economic narrative.
In order to achieve its vision, the Africa Prosperity Dialogues (APD) represents APN’s flagship event; a platform dedicated to Africa’s business, political, and social sector leaders to discuss how to enhance intra-African trade as a catalyst for economic prosperity.
