The Marketing and Corporate Relations Director at Absa Bank Ghana, Nana Essilfuah Tamakloe, has emphasized Absa’s commitment to providing platforms that empower and prepare the youth for success in various avenues.
According to her, while many young individuals are eager to learn, the lack of accessible opportunities continuously serves as a demotivating factor.
She made these remarks in her address at the ‘Absa Ready To Work Forum’ held at the UPSA Auditorium in Accra.
The forum, organized in collaboration with the Mastercard Foundation, aimed at bridging the gap between learning and skill development for young individuals.
“We provide the platform that builds them up, gets them ready so they can look at other avenues. The crop of young people coming out now is hungry for success. They are hungry to be given opportunities, hungry to learn,” she stated.
Mrs. Tamakloe also stressed the importance of channeling the ambitions of young people into the right areas and offering them platforms where they can excel and demonstrate their capabilities.
She expressed confidence in the potential of the youth, describing them as the ‘sustainable extension’ of Absa’s business.
“These young people are going to be our next set of customers, vendors, suppliers, and employees who will carry the Absa business into the next generation. It’s very important that we collaborate as a private and public sector, work out opportunities, share what is available to them, and support them through the challenges they face,” she asserted.
Further speaking, she emphasized the need for collaboration between the private and public sectors to create a supportive environment that “enables young individuals to thrive and contribute to the future success of businesses and the nation as a whole.”
