Donations continue to pour in from corporate, social welfare and religious organizations, as well as the general public for the relief campaign spearheaded by Citi FM and Citi TV for persons affected by the Akosombo Dam spillage.
Earlier this week the stations received donations from a number of organizations, including AvaCoconut Oil.
They donated 250ml of their excellent coconut oil to the cause on Monday.
The Public Relations Unite of the Ministry of Information also donated GHS 2,000 cedis.
A sum of GHS 2,000 was presented to the Citi FM Foundation by the Christ Evangelical Mission, Accra Newtown.
Nsia Insurance also brought over 30 bags of rice for the displaced individuals in the affected communities.
The Power House Ministries International handed over 350 packs of water and 10,000 cedis to the Foundation.
The Ewe Family in Sydney, New South Wales sent over an amount of GHS 13,400 to the relief campaign on Wednesday.
There was also a donation of GHS 10,000 by the Hospital Infrastructure Group Ltd.
Hotjobs Africa Ltd donated an assortment of items as well.
The items were received by various members of the stations’ management and staff including MD, Samuel Attah-Mensah, General Manager, Bernard Avle and Head of Administration, Matthew Idun.
They all pledged the station’s commitment to ensuring the items reach the victims of the spillage.
The relief campaign spearheaded by Citi TV/Citi FM has received massive contributions from individuals and corporate organisations.
Two resettlement centres are currently underway in Tokpo in Shai Osudoku and Ada East both in the Greater Accra region. Athens sod was cut on Wednesday, November 8, at Bakpa in Central Tongu for construction of a host of facilities including a school and a market.
