Donations continue to pour in from corporate, social welfare and religious organizations, as well as the general public, for the relief campaign spearheaded by Citi FM and Citi TV for persons affected by the Akosombo Dam spillage.
In the last few days, the stations received donations from several groups, including World Bank/IFC Ghana Staff.
The staff, touched by the depressing stories of the conditions of the displaced persons in the Lower Volta area and encouraged by the work by the team at Citi FM/TV to help provide relief, decided to support the campaign with an amount of GH50,000.
They expressed their hope, on their visit to Citi FM’s premises at Adabraka on Monday, November 13 that the funds would go into the provision of temporary relief for the victims of the spillage, and also the more permanent resettlement solutions being pursued by the Citi FM Foundation.
They were received by the Head of Administration, Matthew Idun who pledged that the money would be put to judicious use in the campaign.
Also today, the Springboard Road Show Foundation donated GHS10,000 to the campaign.
A sum of GHS 5,000 was presented to the Citi FM Foundation by the Chartered Institute of Bankers.
The Biker Girls Ghana also donated an amount of GHS5,000 to the campaign.

They all pledged the station’s commitment to ensuring the items reach the victims of the spillage.
