Newly elected constituency executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Talensi Constituency of the Upper East Region have declared operation win all branches in the 2020 general election.
According to the executive, the performance of the NDC in the 2016 general elections in the constituency was because the party’s achievements were not well marketed hence their strategic resolve to win all branches.
NDC Talensi constituency chairman, George Adongo Ayamboya during a reconciliation dialogue of the rank and file of the party at Pusu-Namongo said “we have declared our constituency ‘Operation win all branches’ where our brothers and sisters who have the financial muscle will choose and own a branch or two to work with the branch executives for massive victory in 2020.”
“Our communications department has decided to sell the NDC from house to house and from room to room to educate and explain to constituents the philosophy and achievements of the party ahead of the 2020 elections. We will compile all developmental projects undertaken by both the NDC government and the Member of Parliament Benson Tong Baba, which will be displayed on billboards to remind constituents ahead of election 2020.”
Mr. Ayamboya indicated that all branch youth organizers will recruit and register seventy-seven youth from their branches to support the agenda 2020 campaign at the local level.
“Our women wing has identified breast cancer as a problem confronting women and young ladies in the area, and will organize a forum to create awareness and screen women for early detection and prevention.”
Mr. Ayamboya pleaded with the rank and file of the party to forgive one another after the party’s constituency election, adding that, victory for the party is dependent on a united team.
Various speakers including Member of Parliament for Talensi, Benson Tong Baba, Former Minister of Information and Ambassador to Cuba, John Tia, and Former Talensi DCE, Edward Awonoore appealed to all members of the party to forgive one another and work in the spirit of unity for the victory of the party in 2020.
