Nomadic herdsmen of Fulani extraction operating in the Krachi East Municipality of the Volta Region have been urged to register with the Assembly or risk leaving the District.
The herdsmen have been given up to September 24, 2018, to register with the Municipal Assembly.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Krachi East Municipal Assembly, Patrick Jilimah disclosed this at the Assembly’s town hall meeting held in Dambai, the district capital.
The programme was attended by departmental heads, Government Appointees, traditional rulers, opinion leaders and Assembly Members, and the public who had the opportunity to ask questions.
The MCE also urged people who have Fulani nomads working under them to ensure that they all register before the said date.
Under the One –Distict-One-Factory project in the district, Mr. Jilima revealed that a cassava processing factory would be built at Kparekpare.
Under the Planting for Food and Jobs, 3,166 were supported with agro-inputs in 2017.
In 2018, 1,415 farmers have benefited from the provision of Omankwa maize seed, fertilizers, and tomato seeds. 58, 800 cashew seedlings are being distributed to 500 registered farmers as well.
The Assembly in its quest to improve sanitation has also resolved to prosecute people who build houses without toilet facilities.
A Community-led total sanitation programme where communities take charge of sanitation issues were implemented.
Seventeen communities out of the 234 in the district have been declared open defecation Free.
Ten Island communities would be connected to a solar project in the area.
