The Ministry of Interior has lauded Citi TV’s ‘War against Indiscipline’ campaign which began in May, 2019.
The Deputy Interior Minister, Henry Quartey, speaking to Citi News said the campaign is a good move to ensure sanity and discipline on Ghana’s roads.
“The Interior Ministry is supportive of the operation that is why you (Citi TV) have the Ghana Police Service assisting you (Citi TV) in doing so and as you can see all citizens in the country are complying with the road traffic regulations and I think that is the good way to go.”
Mr Quartey, however, called on government appointees who will be embarking on official duties to contact the ministry for provisions to be made for a police escort.
The government appointees who may be going for an assignment are supposed to contact the Minister of Interior so that provisions will be made for police escorts and motorcades to their various places in order to conduct government business.”
Earlier this week, the Director-General of Police Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service, COP Christian Tetteh Yohunu disclosed plans to scale up Citi TV’s War Against Indiscipline (WAI) campaign to other regions starting from the Ashanti Region.
COP Yohunu expressed delight at the results achieved within a short time since the management of Citi TV introduced the campaign.
