The Methodist Church Ghana, Wenchi Diocese in collaboration with the Wenchi Methodist Hospital in the Bono Region honored Ghana’s Ambassador to Denmark, Mrs. Amerley Ollennu Awua Asamoah for her immense contribution to the hospital and other health facilities in the Wenchi Municipality.
The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Wenchi Methodist Hospital, Mr. Kwaku Kyei, who spoke on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer of the hospital, Mr. Bernard Kwasi Botchwey, acknowledged the immense contribution of Mrs. Amerley Ollennu Awua Asamoah to the hospital who recently donated medicines, medical equipment and furniture worth over US$ 1,000,000 to improve the quality of health care delivery at the hospital and beyond.
The Citation reads;
“Methodist Hospital Excellence award presented to Her Excellency Amerley Ollennu Awua Asamoah (Mrs.) Ghana’s Ambassador to Denmark in appreciation of your immeasurable support towards the growth and development of the Methodist hospital in Wenchi Municipality.”
Mrs. Amerley Ollennu Awua Asamoah expressed her appreciation to the Methodist Church and the Wenchi Methodist Hospital for the honour bestowed on her and called on other Wenchi citizens in the diaspora to also help Wenchi to develop.
Ambassador Amerley Ollennu Awua Asamoah was accompanied by her husband and the Abusuapanin of Sofoase Yefiri Royal family, Dr. Obeng Gyan Busia and some members of the Sofoase Yefiri Royal family.
The event was chaired by the Awerempimhene of Wenchi Traditional Area Nana Ampoforo Senebour Yentoto II.
Among the dignitaries present were the Acting President of the Wenchi Traditional Council, Nana Asimpi Adinkra Kosopre III, Chiefs and Queen mothers from the Wenchi Traditional Area, the Wenchi Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Edward Abaazing, the Clergy, Leaders of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Wenchi Constituency amongst others.
