Promasidor Ghana Limited, producers of Cowbell milk have held the annual Bike Caravan in Tamale to mark its 20th anniversary celebration.
The event attracted thousands of cycling enthusiasts who lined up the streets of the Northern Regional capital for the 2019 edition of the event which was held at the Jubilee Park.
The 22km-long cycling event was aimed at promoting safe cycling whiles encouraging participants to adopt it as a form of exercise for healthy living.
With an escort from the police and the ambulance service, participants joined the thrilling ride through the principal street of principal street of Tamale.
Speaking in a media interview Mr Joseph Ashong expressed his excitement about turn out of the event.
“Cowbell bike caravan is an event that has been with the cowbell brand for more than a decade now and our commitment to make it much better continues unabated. We believe that aside professional cycling, Ghanaians can adopt cycling as a form of exercise in building healthier bodies. Cycling culture in tamale is big and we would want to encourage it, at the same time educate the cyclist on safety precautions while on the road” Mr. Ashong said.
He said the event is also a platform to unearth professional cycling talents in Ghana.
The event ended with participants receiving over one hundred prize packages including bicycles, cowbell souvenirs and products.
The event was interspersed with musical and dance performances from local artistes
Some participants who shared their experience thanked Cowbell for the event and encouraged other brands emulate.
Meanwhile the company is undertaking a community development project to provide 20 rural areas with potable water.
The borehole construction project was commissioned at Aminapah – a community in the Ada district in the Greater Accra region in July 2019.
