The Member of Parliament for Effutu in the Central Region, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin continues his focus on developing infrastructure for his people.
Shortly after commissioning and handing over 14 Libraries to various Communities in his Constituency, he’s gone ahead to commission and cut the sod for more projects aimed at realizing the now-christened Efutu Dream.
The first set of Libraries was quickly followed with the Commissioning of another, Nenyi Gyan III Community Library for the people of Ekrofor
Commissioned on February 16, the project is expected to imbibe a reading culture in students in and immediately around the Community.
Mr. Afenyo-Markin, who doubles as Deputy Majority Leader in Parliament, says his aspiration is “to make Effutu the gateway to the Central Region”.
Pursuant to this, on Friday, February 19, 2021, the Member of Parliament commissioned a new Health Directorate for the Effutu Municipality.
The facility, constructed at Atekyedo near Winneba, is expected to facilitate health service delivery within the Effutu Municipality.
Observing the commissioning was the Central Regional Director of Health Services, Dr. Mrs. Akosua Agyeiwa Owusu Sarpong, Acting Municipal Director of Health Services, Mariatu Seidu, and the Deputy Director of
Administration, Emmanuel Taadi.
Also in attendance were the Chief of Atekyedo, Nana Amponsah Atta VII, as well as Dr. George Kwame Prah, Director of the Trauma and Specialist Hospital.
Then, on Friday, February 26, Mr. Afenyo-Markin again, commissioned a long dreamt project for the people of Kojo Beedu; the Osaagyefo Kojo Beedu I Community Center.
The Center has been advocated for as a rallying point to engender communal engagements and youth development. Kojo Beedu is the 8th Community to get a Community Center from the Deputy Majority Leader, with 4 more centers at various stages of completion for other communities.
On the same day the Osaagyefo Kojo Beedu I Community Center was commissioned, the Member of Parliament also cut the sod for the construction of a Community Library and ICT center for the people of Kojo Beedu.
