General Manager of Citi FM and TV, Bernard Koku Avle, has urged the 2023 graduating class of the Accra Business School to make a difference in the business space, as they are part of the leaders who will make Ghanaian businesses globally competitive.
He made this statement at the school’s 14th congregation, where 261 students were conferred various degrees, including MSc Accounting & Finance, MBA (KNUST), and ATHE Level 6&7.
During his keynote address, Mr. Avle, who is also an economist, emphasized that the quality of Accra Business School’s program gives its students a competitive edge as Ghana strives to build a strong private sector.
“What we are seeing today with this graduation is the result of investment in high-quality education that will create the manpower Ghana needs to industrialize and be globally competitive. When I look at the quality of your faculty and the emphasis of your programs, the practicality and job- and experience-centred approach the Accra Business School adopts, I have no doubt that in this hall today are an important part of the critical mass of business leaders we need to make our companies more effective and efficient and ultimately more competitive globally,” he said.
Mr. Avle also urged other business schools in Ghana and Africa to develop a philosophy that focuses on creating a new breed of business leaders educated to global standards, capable of creating jobs, increasing incomes, and reducing poverty.
President of the Accra Business School, Prof. Cedric Bell, congratulated the students for successfully completing this challenging but ultimately rewarding journey, considering them as worthy representatives of the unique and expanding Accra Business School.
“We want to congratulate you on your success, and thank you for your sustained commitment to your studies and your determination and perseverance. You have made your own unique contribution to enhancing the school’s national and international standing and reputation,” he said.
This year’s graduation also witnessed the first cohort of the Wrexham University Master of Business Administration program receiving their certification.
